1. What we use and why
Cookies and local storage are small pieces of data saved by your browser. Own Ahead uses them to keep you signed in securely, to remember the cookie choices you make, and to show you the homes you recently viewed. Payment pages are hosted by Stripe, which sets its own cookies when you start a checkout.
Non-essential categories are switched off until you allow them. Nothing in the analytics or marketing categories is loaded first and hidden afterwards — there is currently no such script in the service at all.
2. Categories
- Strictly necessary — sign-in and session security, consent record, recently viewed homes, and Stripe payment and fraud-prevention cookies. These cannot be switched off without breaking sign-in and payment.
- Analytics — would measure page use. No analytics provider is installed today, so this category is empty and defaults to off.
- Marketing / advertising — would support advertising or retargeting. No advertising pixel or tag is installed today, so this category is empty and defaults to off.

4. Changing your choices
Use the button below, or the “Cookie settings” link in the footer of every page, to reopen the preference centre. You can also clear cookies and site data in your browser settings, though that will sign you out.
5. Global Privacy Control
If your browser or extension sends a Global Privacy Control signal, Own Ahead reads it automatically, records the preference alongside your consent record, and keeps marketing, sale/share and targeted-advertising style processing switched off. You can also register a preference directly on the privacy choices page.
6. Changes and contact
If we add an analytics or advertising provider in future, we will update this page and the consent version, which reopens the banner so you can make a fresh choice.
Own Ahead does not yet publish a dedicated legal or privacy mailbox. Until one is in place, send any legal, privacy, accessibility, copyright or security message through the privacy and requests centre. Requests submitted there are logged for review, and you do not need an account to use it.
