Accessibility Statement

Finding a workable path to homeownership should not depend on how you use the web. We build Own Ahead so that it can be used with a keyboard, a screen reader, magnification and other assistive technology.

1. Our goal

Own Ahead aims to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. We treat this as an ongoing target rather than a finished state, and we do not claim certified or audited conformance — no third-party accessibility audit has been carried out yet.

2. What we have built in

  • Semantic headings, landmarks and page titles so that structure is announced correctly.
  • Keyboard operability for navigation, search filters, forms, dialogs and the cookie preference centre.
  • Visible focus styling and labelled form fields, buttons and toggles.
  • Text alternatives for meaningful imagery and icon-only controls.
  • Colour choices intended to keep text contrast readable, and a layout that reflows on small screens and at increased zoom.
  • Content that does not rely on colour alone to convey meaning, such as badges paired with text.

3. Known limitations

  • Map and data-visualisation areas can be harder to use with assistive technology; equivalent information is provided in text nearby.
  • Listing content and images supplied by sellers or sources may not include adequate descriptions.
  • Payment and billing pages are hosted by our payment processor, and their accessibility is controlled by that provider.
  • Some areas have not yet been tested with every combination of browser and assistive technology.

4. Tell us about a barrier

If something on Own Ahead is hard or impossible for you to use, please tell us what page you were on, what you were trying to do, and the browser and assistive technology you use. We will try to help you get the information you need in another way while we fix the underlying issue.

Own Ahead does not yet publish a dedicated legal or privacy mailbox. Until one is in place, send any legal, privacy, accessibility, copyright or security message through the privacy and requests centre. Requests submitted there are logged for review, and you do not need an account to use it.
